Gawsh, I am so so embarrassed at that description. Though I have a healthy respect for my own capabilities within a very narrow field, anyone who actually knows the inept bumbler that I am in person would scoff mightily at the use of the G-word, most particularly my family.
As for the linguistic thing, after 30-some years of being in Catalonia and having Catalan wife and kids, I'd be some kinda eejit if I didn't speak Catalan and Spanish just like everybody else here.
